Transpersonal Hypnotherapy

Transpersonal Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis can be classified as an altered state of consciousness, (ASC) or shift in a persons consciousness which can be subjectively and/or objectively distinguished from mental processes existing in the waking state. Hypnosis occurs in a state between awake and asleep. Daily occurrences such as sleeping, reading, driving, or even watching a movie or TV show can induce a type of ASC. Hypnosis is brought about by a therapist using a combination of concentration, relaxation, suggestion, and expectation.
The use of hypnosis and the profession of Hypnotherapist are rapidly becoming more accepted in the mainstream population. Hypnotherapy has been recognized by the American Medical Association since the late 1950s. The uses and benefits of this practice are quite vast.
Transpersonal can be described as employing a mind, body, spirit approach. It assumes we operate on all three levels. It embraces the clinical aspects, but also adds the clients higher dimensional realities when deemed appropriate and beneficial by the therapist.
Hypnotherapy is not mind control. No one can be forced to respond in a manner that is in conflict with their values and belief system. It does not harm, but provides an environment for deep relaxation, self-awareness, and positive change.
